It is common for people to share the Netflix account among family members.

The problem with this is that there is not much protection. A child, for example, can access an adult’s account and see his recommendations.
So, on Tuesday (7), Netflix added new parental control functions that allow, for example, to configure movies and series based on a certain age, exclude certain titles and protect profiles with a password.

- Log in to Netflix on your computer’s browser, go to the top-right menu and click Account.
- Under Profile and Parental Control, go to View Restrictions and click Swap.
- A line will appear with the different age ratings, with L being free for all ages, while the numbers represent ages.
- Right below, it is possible to type the titles that must be restricted for a given profile. Just start typing and the system will show suggestions.
- Finally, click the Save button.

How to password protect a Netflix profile.?
- Log in to Netflix on your computer’s browser, go to the top-right menu and click Account.
- In Profile and Parental Control, go to Profile Lock and click Change.
- Enter a four-digit PIN, select “Request a PIN to access the profile” and select Save.
- Finally, click the Save button.
In the item Profile and Parental Control, users can still see “What was watched”, in an item that bears the same name, and adjust “Play Settings”.
This last feature makes it possible to activate or cancel the automatic playback.
